Founding Pastor David J. Sagil came to Chicago and started New Horizon Temple in 1982. In 2001 we purchased our current church complex and moved to Elmwood Park.
Intelligent and with a quick mind and wit, you will enjoy listening to Pastor Sagil. He always has a fresh sermon, drive, zeal and a passion for Christ. Pastor Sagil keeps our church alive and fresh. If you need motivation or need a fresh word from the Lord, or have a theological question, come and hear Pastor Sagil deliver a message straight from the throne of God. He hears from God, and does not keep it to himself. Your knowledge will increase and you will be blessed and refreshed after listening to Pastor Sagil.
Ila Sagil - Pastor's Wife
Pastor's wife and you will see her hand in most departments of the church from Children's Ministries, Ladies Ministries as well as the Music Department.
She cares about every member from the smallest to the oldest. She gives everyone a sense of belonging. She is the spiritual mother of this congregation. If you have a problem, she will always lend an ear, a tear and a prayer for you.

Tamar Sagil - Worship Leader
Worship Leader, Youth Choir Director and Youth Teacher. You will enjoy the music from this very talented young lady whether she is leading worship or directing the youth choir. She always comes up with something new and exciting. You will be moved by her devotion and depth in the spirit as she ministers in song and prayer.
Say hello to Tamar when you arrive, she has a kind and sweet spirit that excels at making visitors feel at home.
Susan Warf - Secretary and Adult Class Greeter
Sue is a very active part of the NHT Staff. She will be one of the first persons that you will see upon arrival at NHT. Say hello to Sue when you arrive and say you saw her on the web site and she will give you a free pen.
George Spathies - Outreach Director
George is a man with much enthusiasm. He has a great desire for things of God. His worship will inspire and bless you.
You will not be able to miss George, not only is he about the tallest guy in church, but his worship is very tall also. You will be sure to hear him worshipping the Lord above everyone else. God surely hears his prayer, for we all do.
George is a big hearted guy who you will love almost from the start. Kind and with a heart of gold. His love for God is very evident.
Laura Jean Spathies - Special Events Coordinator
Laura Jean, always busy with the many activities of our church. But never too busy to share a moment of friendship. Laura Jean, a true friend, warm and friendly, lively and fun and a very compassionate heart who never meets a stranger.
Betsy Winterhalter - Worship Leader
Sunday Morning Keyboardist, Worship Leader. Betsy plays the keyboard and leads Sunday Morning Worship as well as working on the adult staff. Betsy, quick minded, quick wit, and ready to worship. Come and worship with Betsy on Sunday mornings.
