Founding Pastor David J. Sagil came to Chicago and started New Horizon Temple in 1982. In 2001 we purchased our current church complex and moved to Elmwood Park.  

Intelligent and with a quick mind and wit, you will enjoy listening to Pastor Sagil.  He always has a fresh sermon, drive, zeal and a passion for Christ.  Pastor Sagil keeps our church alive and fresh.  If you need motivation or need a fresh word from the Lord, or have a theological question, come and hear Pastor Sagil deliver a message straight from the throne of God.  He hears from God, and does not keep it to himself.  Your knowledge will increase and you  will be blessed and refreshed after listening to Pastor Sagil.

Pastor's wife and you will see her hand in most departments of the church from Children's Ministries, Ladies Ministries as well as the Music Department. 

She cares about every member from the smallest to the oldest.  She gives everyone a sense of  belonging.  She is the spiritual mother of this congregation.  If you have a problem, she will always lend an ear, a tear and a prayer for you.

Jorge Escarpita, head of our youth department as well as a dedicated board member of New Horizon Temple.  

You will find Jorge a man of high prinicipal.  His devotion to God runs deep.   A heart that is open with great compassion toward all.  A man of faith, intelligence and wisdom.  You will learn to respect and love Jorge.

Ladies Coordinator, Youth Teacher, Keyboardist and Daughters Of Zion Leader.  You will enjoy her inspired song writing as well as anointed and beautiful singing.   She also has blessed us with insightful devotions at our Ladies Daughters of Zion Meetings that are usually held the first Monday of every month (Please call to confirm meetings before arrival).  Come and meet Jada, you will love this warm and friendly mother of three boys and wife of our youth leader, Jorge.   She will encourage you in the Lord and her heart and home is always open for one more teanager.  She will challenge you to a greater devotion to Christ.

Worship Leader, Youth Choir Director and Youth Teacher.  You will enjoy the music from this very talented young lady whether she is leading worship or directing the youth choir.  She always comes up with something new and exciting.  You will be moved by her devotion and depth in the spirit as she ministers in song and prayer.  

Say hello to Tamar when you arrive, she has a kind and sweet spirit that excels at making visitors feel at home.

Sue is a very active part of the NHT Staff.  She will be one of the first persons that you will see upon arrival at NHT.   Say hello to Sue when you arrive and say you saw her on the web site and she will give you a free pen.

George is a man with much enthusiasm.  He has a great desire for things of God.  His worship will inspire and bless you.

You will not be able to miss George, not only is he about the tallest guy in church, but his worship is very tall also.  You will be sure to hear him worshipping the Lord above everyone else.  God surely hears his prayer, for we all do.

George is a big hearted guy who you will love almost from the start.  Kind and with a heart of gold.   His love for God is very evident.

Laura Jean, always busy with the many activities of our church.  But never too busy to share a moment of friendship.  Laura Jean, a true friend, warm and friendly, lively and fun and a very compassionate heart who never meets a stranger.

Jesse, the leader of the pack.  Smart and imaginative with a keen mind for the of word of God, big heart and a big smile.  You will find Jesse every Sunday Morning in the Trail Blazers Club downstairs where Awesome Bible Dramas are enacted portraying the Bible in an exciting way never seen before  (Children ages 6-12).  If you are 6-12 years old - you will have a great time here with Jesse.  Give Jesse a high five when you see him.

Elizabeth teaches  6-12 year old boys and girls.  Talk about Super Church!  That is exactly what they have every Sunday Morning.  What an exciting time they have.   Songs, games, crafts, Bible drama and let's not forget treat time... Kids love it and look forward to coming back week after week.  If your child is 6-12 years old and you have been thinking about finding a church for them, this is the place to be and they will love having Elizabeth as their teacher!  She is one of the best!   Fun, funny, exciting, warm and caring and fair.  Stop by and meet Elizabeth... you will love her.

Sunday Morning Keyboardist, Worship Leader.  Betsy plays the keyboard and leads Sunday Morning Worship as well as working on the adult staff.  Betsy, quick minded, quick wit, and ready to worship.  Come and worship with Betsy on Sunday mornings.

Esmeralda leads Worship with feelng and certainly you will feel the Spirit of God during this time of Worship and praise. 

Esmeralda also teaches 3-5 year olds with great imagination.  I went into her class room recently and saw a boat with chairs for the kids in it.  Our Pastor said, "it makes me want to be in her class." So, if you see a thinning haired kid come in on his knees (trying to look short), you will know it is our Pastor.  If you  have a child who is 3-5  years of age and you  want your child to come to a place where learning about God is fun, then bring them to Esmeralda's class.  It is a great place to learn the truths of God.

Gamaliel, affectionately known as Jr., gentle, soft spoken, loveable, talented, creative and fun.  You will find him active in any area of the church where he is needed.  He may be on the platform adjusting the sound system, running the screen projection or drawing a cartoon for one of the boys in his classroom, (Jr teaches 10 -11 year old boys).  Jr. is a very valuable asset to our congregation and you will be blessed when you meet him.
